On November 5, 2024, representatives from the Colombian Senate and the civil society organizations signing this position statement met to reaffirm the legislative commitment to prioritize Bill 297-2024, aimed at banning child marriage and early unions without exceptions. The Senate will discuss this bill in its plenary session on November 25, 2024, and we call for strengthened commitment to approve, implement, and fully fund this legislation in support of children and adolescents.
